After making the standard in the executive sedan segment, BMW India has introduced the new 6 series. It is locally produced at the BMW plant, Chennai. The 6 is available in 3 variants.

  • BMW 630i M sport with starting price of INR 69,90,000 (ex-showroom)
  • BMW 630d Luxury line with starting price of INR 71,50,000 (ex-showroom)
  • BMW 620d Luxury Line with starting price of INR 71,50,000 (ex-showroom)

The exterior design is bolder and more aggressive-looking, right from the front grille flanked by the sleeker headlamps with twin L-shaped DRS, which now comes standard, to the trapezoidal exhaust in the rear bumper.

It also has frameless doors. Overall it couldn’t get any sportier. Its lift-back shape with sloping roofline towards the stubby boot remains unchanged and is still the defining feature of the 6 GT.

6GT Interiror

A glance is abundant to reveal that the new BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo interior is the ideal travel companion. It’s lavish, spacious, and gives a generous amount of comfort.

Interior trim has strengthened its luxurious appeal – Now the BMW 630i and the BMW 620d come with Genuine Leather ‘Dakota’ and fine wood trims and the BMW 630d becomes an elegant premium option with exclusive ‘Nappa’ leather.

The rear seat has electrically adjustable backrest to an angle that is comfortable for long journeys. The two-part panoramic glass sunroof adds to the feel of spaciousness in the cabin.

There are 2 infotainment screens for the passengers in the rear and four-zone climate control, where the temperature can be set differently for each one in the rear. To top that up is ambient lighting with six dimmable designs set the tone for your every mood.

Air suspension at all four corners are standard across the range that offer nice cushy rides at all times and absorb even the sharpest bumps nicely. The luggage compartment has room for up to 600 litres, extending to 1,800 litres all credits to the 40/20/40 split.

The petrol and diesel engines are truly powerful and offer spontaneous responsiveness even at moderate engine speeds, providing best-in-class acceleration.

Here are some figures to prove the same. BMW 630i reaches 0-100 kmph acceleration in just 6.5 seconds and BMW 620d reaches 0-100 kmph acceleration in 7.9 seconds, and the best one is saved for the last BMW 630d reaches from standstill to 100 kmph acceleration in just 6.1 seconds, making it the quickest car in this segment.

The perks of having the Parking Assistant is parking in tight spots becomes very easy with the rear camera and not to forget the Reversing Assistant which provides unmatched support in reversing out of a parking spot or in narrow lanes.
